About the role
The University Police Department is actively recruiting experienced, lateral, out-of-state, military and recently retired law enforcement officers for multiple University Police Officer 2 positions serving UNLV and the Nevada System of Higher Education.
Responsibilities
- Patrol and protection of university campuses and surrounding areas
- Criminal and non-criminal investigations
- Traffic enforcement and collision investigation
- Event security and large-scale campus operations
- Community engagement with students, faculty, and staff
- Court appearances and report preparation
Requirements
- Graduation from high school or equivalent education and one year of law enforcement experience; OR
- Associate of Arts degree or equivalent coursework in criminal justice, police science, psychology, or closely related field and six months of law enforcement experience; OR
- One year of experience as a University Police Officer I in Nevada State service.

Pay
Salary range: $82,393.48 (Grade 40, Step 1) - $123,651.36 (Grade 40, Step 10)
