About the role
The University Appeals Administrator investigates appeals submitted for an exception within the University Policy Handbook. The department facilitates the administration of the processes available to students, faculty, and staff.
Responsibilities
- Communicate with Deans, Faculty, and Staff regarding University policies.
- Ensure protection of student records in accordance with FERPA.
- Compile and analyze metrics to improve University policies and processes.
- Research and investigate student appeals, and other issues, as related to University policies.
- Mediate the Appeal Decision Board to ensure compliance with university policies and procedures.
- Facilitate the decisions to ensure appeals are resolved within the 15-day timeline per the University Policy Handbook.
- Ensure all correspondence with accrediting bodies is documented and cataloged assuring that the University remains in compliance with these bodies.
- Identify and resolve problems in a timely manner;
- Gather and analyze information skillfully;
- Develop alternative solutions;
- Work well in group problem solving situations;
- Use reason even when dealing with emotional topics.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree required.
- Possess an advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook).
- Be able to synthesize complex or diverse information;
- Collections and research data;
- Uses intuition and experience to complement data;
- Designs workflows and procedures.
