About the role

We are seeking a research and teaching assistant at the Institute for European and International Law (Team Pabel) starting November 1, 2026, for a fixed term of 4 years (part-time, 30 hours/week). This position offers the opportunity to pursue a doctoral dissertation while gaining initial teaching experience, keeping open both an academic career path and future practice opportunities.

What you will do

• Write your dissertation: dedicate one-third of your working time to research on your chosen topic
• Conduct research for yourself and others: support scientific projects and research current questions in public law, European law, and international law
• Plan and deliver courses, support examinations or conduct them yourself
• Supervise students: be available for student questions, provide feedback on seminar papers, and co-supervise bachelor's theses

What you bring

• Degree: completed Master's degree in Business Law or a Diploma in Law that qualifies for doctoral studies at WU, with good results
• Very good knowledge of Austrian public law, European law, and international law
• Willingness to apply multimedia teaching and learning formats
• Self-responsible, proactive, and self-organized working style

Pay

The monthly minimum salary is €2,832.08 gross. Relevant prior work experience may lead to a higher starting salary. We also offer a variety of attractive social benefits.

Part-time, 30 hours/week. Starting November 1, 2026, fixed-term for 4 years.
