About the Role
This position offers a student the opportunity to gain experience understanding the clinical practice of a Nurse Practitioner. It is designed for a student enrolled in a Psychiatric-Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) program, providing knowledge and firsthand experience in areas necessary to become a Nurse Practitioner.
Responsibilities
- Follow objectives set forth in the Learning Plan.
- Conduct clinical assessments to develop treatment goals and objectives.
- Make diagnostic impressions and develop care plans to support client goals.
- Implement evidence-based interventions for perinatal depression/anxiety and caregiver/child bonding and attachment.
- Routinely monitor and review clients’ progress toward goals and modify care plans as needed.
- Assist clients in developing a crisis plan while following the crisis process, as needed.
- Meet all required deadlines for documentation for both billing and grant requirements.
- Attend all required meetings and trainings.
- Demonstrate cultural awareness and sensitivity in working with women and families from diverse backgrounds.
- Perform duties within a standard 40-hour workweek.
- Other duties as assigned by the Clinical Supervisor.
Requirements
- Current enrollment in an accredited Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) program.
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license.
- Effectively communicate via written, verbal, in-person, and virtual methods.
- Training in evidence-based practices.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience working with adults, children, couples, and families.
