About the Role

Eventide Heartland Courts Senior Living in Devils Lake is seeking Full-Time Universal Workers/CNAs for AM/PM shifts (6:00 AM–2:30 PM & 2:00 PM–10:30 PM), including every other weekend and holiday rotation. This position is at our Assisted Living facility and includes a $2 per hour evening shift differential added to the base wage.

The Universal Worker provides high-quality and safe personal care assistance to senior living tenants, consistent with federal, state, and local standards, guidelines, and regulations, as well as Eventide’s philosophy, policies, and procedures. Responsibilities include personal care, housekeeping, laundry, and planning life enrichment activities.

Responsibilities

• Assists tenants with activities of daily living including bathing, dressing, and grooming.
• Assists tenants with ambulation and/or therapeutic exercises.
• Observes and/or assists with medications that may have been ordinarily self-administered. May give oral and trans-dermal medications, patches, eye drops, topical ointments, and suppositories under the direction of the nurse.
• Reads and records temperature, pulse, respiration, blood pressure, and weight.
• Provides adequate nutrition and fluid intake through meal preparation.
• Performs blood sugar testing and documents results.
• Provides tenants with emotional and cognitive support.
• Socializes with tenants. Listens, converses, and participates in appropriate activities such as reading mail and writing letters.
• Gives guidance, redirection, and re-orientation to tenants as needed.
• Develops a rapport with tenants and families to understand their needs and interests.
• Documents in tenant records as instructed and promptly.
• Participates in the development, implementation, and review of the tenant’s plan of care.
• Recognizes and reports significant changes in the tenant’s health, behavior, and/or general appearance to the nurse.
• Complies with infection control policies and procedures.
• Recognizes emergencies and carries out emergency procedures according to policy.
• Promptly reports any occurrences of physical or mental abuse or potential for vulnerable adult reports to a supervisor.
• Reviews communication notes at the start of each shift to stay informed of changes.
• Cleans apartments, service areas, and common areas.
• Sorts, washes, dries, and folds personal clothing and linens.
• Re-stocks supplies as needed.
• Assists with serving meals in the dining room.
• Performs pet care per policy.

Requirements

• Must have a current ND CNA license or be able to obtain upon hire.

Pay

Competitive estimated pay range of $18–$20.16 per hour for Universal Worker/CNA, based on qualifications, experience, and location. Shift premiums and differentials are available for select positions.
