Universal Banker II

About the role

We are seeking a Universal Banker II to join our Western Office branch team at Open Bank. This position involves meeting with customers and non-customers to open various types of accounts, providing exceptional service, and cross-selling appropriate products and services.

Responsibilities

• Opens, closes, and renews all types of savings, certificate of deposit, and checking products quickly and accurately.
• Provides exceptional service in handling clients in person or on the telephone.
• Maintains a cash drawer, balances, and audits the cash drawer according to policy and schedule.
• Processes Reject, Overdraft (OD), Non-Post, Stop and HOLD items.
• Reviews and performs callback on various reports and items.
• Communicates with customers and mails out notices for NSF, OD, and Return Items.
• Researches deposit accounts such as Account Statement Printing & Image Printing.
• Scans new account documents for review and callback.
• Processes outgoing wire and keyboard item input and completes next day review.
• Affords assistance with Safe Deposit Box access to clients and assists in opening new deposit boxes.
• Processes mail and courier deposits, messenger service deposits, mobile, and remote deposits, reviews, and submits.

Requirements/Qualifications

• Minimum one year of experience as an operation specialist in a bank operation required.
• Retail sales and service experience, including cash handling, is a plus.
• Ability to respond effectively to the most sensitive inquiries or client complaints.
• Good written and oral communication skills; ability to communicate effectively and project a professional image when giving and taking information in writing, in person, and over the phone.
• Accurate typing/keyboarding skills; basic computer skills, including the use of word processing, spreadsheet software applications, core banking process systems, e-mail, and on-line banking programs.
• Be able to handle large amounts of cash.

Compensation is commensurate with experience.
