About the role
Potomac Bank is seeking a Universal Banker I who enjoys interacting with people, building lasting relationships, and gaining important financial skills. Key responsibilities include handling various banking transactions, promoting products, and providing excellent customer service.
Responsibilities
- Interact with the public and resolve their questions or concerns.
- Familiarize oneself with and promote bank products and services.
- Identify and recommend suitable retail products to customers.
- Handle customer complaints and take appropriate actions to resolve issues.
- Establish and maintain positive working relationships with colleagues, employees, and officials.
- Process deposits, withdrawals, and other transactions using the Teller Operational Policy & Procedures Manual.
- Balance cash drawers, count and balance cash in automated teller systems and night drop bags.
- Assist with ATM balancing duties and order client checks through Harland Clarke.
- Complete domestic wires forms and Currency Transaction Reports (CTRs).
- Oversee the issuance of cashier’s checks and money orders.
- Open and maintain consumer types of checking and savings accounts.
- Maintain a secure work area and adhere to bank policies and procedures.
- Operate standard office equipment and demonstrate basic computer skills.
- Communicate clearly and write legibly, and greet the public in a friendly manner.
- Apply common sense to solve problems and follow instructions.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- 1-2 years of prior customer service experience.
- A pleasant personality with an outgoing, service-oriented nature.
- Basic to advanced computer skills.
- Knowledge of bank operations and excellent communication skills.

- Basic skills in operating a computer, printer, and copy machine.
- Ability to read and interpret documents and operate standard office equipment.
