Responsibilities
- Process customer transactions and payments within the lobby or drive-thru, including deposits, withdrawals, loan payments, check cashing, money orders, bank checks, and bonds. Ensure confidential customer information is securely stored.
- Maintain necessary supplies and cash, balance cash drawer and transactions at the end of the working day.
- Assist in balancing the main vault and ATM as needed.
- Deepen knowledge of account types, products, and services to advise and answer customer questions; handle most inquiries independently.
- Open new accounts for existing customers.
- Assist customers with safe deposit box access (in applicable branches) while adhering to procedures and guidelines.
- Provide excellent customer service, resolve problems or complaints in a timely manner, and escalate to branch management as needed.
- Assist with branch quality control and scanning.
- Provide digital technical support for customers.
- Educate customers about bank products and services to meet their needs; recognize and act on referral or sales opportunities.
- Meet individual goals for customer retention and deposit relationship growth.
- Utilize CRM (Salesforce) as requested by the branch team.
- Strive to maintain an inclusive team environment.
- Learn and maintain knowledge of bank products and services.
- Assist in the training of new staff as appropriate.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
- Previous cash handling and customer service experience in a retail environment preferred.
- Customer-focused with the ability to build and maintain relationships.
- Strong oral communication skills; ability to be concise, clear, and consistent.
- Highly detail-oriented with excellent organizational skills.
- Ability to solve problems and provide solutions to customer issues.
- Ability to multi-task and adapt to change.
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite and basic computer skills.
- Flexibility in work schedule and, at times, location.
- May require the ability to occasionally lift office products and supplies weighing up to approximately 25 pounds.
