Universal Banker (Float)

About the role

Provides services to customers in a prompt, professional, and courteous manner while maintaining the confidentiality of the bank’s records and customer transactions. Educates customers about sales and service delivery options and refers appropriate products and services matching clients’ needs based on client conversations. Processes regular transactions such as receiving and paying out money and keeping records of money and negotiable instruments involved in financial transactions efficiently and accurately. This is a float position assigned to a home branch with travel to other branches in the market as needed. Cross-training as a Customer Service Representative (CSR) and Head Teller is required.

Responsibilities

• Performs sales, service, and financial activities with all clients.
• Conducts and completes client conversations to identify financial needs and potential financial solutions.
• Performs intermediate duties and support related to branch operational activities and financial services.
• Offers information on bank products and services that can benefit the customer and enhance the banking relationship.
• Completes all sales and referral activity documentation for performance tracking and future sales targeting.
• Receives checks and cash for deposit, verifies deposit amounts, examines checks for endorsement and negotiability, and issues negotiable items.
• Performs special tasks such as preparing official checks, processing cash advances, accepting loan payments, redeeming savings bonds, and scanning daily transactions accurately.
• Provides safe deposit box accounting support.
• Engages in business development with consumers and small business prospects to meet branch and individual sales, service, and referral goals.
• Adheres to bank policies, procedures, and security measures to protect customers and avoid losses or penalties.
• Demonstrates a positive and helpful attitude toward customers and teammates.
• Cross-trains for dual functions within the branch.
• Assists the Branch Manager with other duties and assignments as requested or necessary.
• Ensures compliance with all regulations, laws, and bank policies pertinent to day-to-day responsibilities.
• Maintains a working knowledge of all compliance regulations through timely completion of assigned courses.
• Adheres to Queensborough’s Code of Professional Ethics and Conduct and promotes compliance among fellow personnel, customers, and vendors.
