About the Role

Responsible for opening, maintaining, and closing various types of bank accounts efficiently and professionally. This role involves generating referrals for new business opportunities, processing teller transactions, assisting other tellers with sales and referral techniques, and providing excellent customer service.

Responsibilities

• Run a teller cash drawer to cover the daily needs of the branch staffing model.
• Exercise authority to sign official checks, not to exceed $50,000, and complete teller overrides.
• Accept and process transactions including savings, checking, and holiday savings accounts, loan payments, safe deposit box rental payments, tax deposits, and withdrawals.
• Accept checks for cashing according to FNB check handling procedures.
• Sell money orders, official checks, and collect applicable fees.
• Ensure each teller balances daily, assist in locating differences, and report discrepancies to the manager as required.
• Create a work environment conducive to superior customer service and teamwork.
• Maintain a professional and organized teller area in accordance with bank policy, including dress code and cell phone usage.
• Handle vault cash under dual control, including vault transactions, cash orders and shipments, audits, and proper strapping and dating of currency.
• Secure all negotiable instruments, safe deposit box records, and confidential records daily.
• Assist customers with safe deposit box rentals following the FNB safe deposit box manual.
• Ensure dual control policies are known and followed by all staff members.
• Open and close the branch following proper security procedures.
• Demonstrate strong knowledge of daily branch, vault, and ATM operations.
• Achieve personal and individual daily sales referral goals and assist/coach tellers to meet theirs.
• Coordinate with the branch manager regarding sales and service operations as needed.
• Use effective communication skills to educate staff on policy changes, procedures, and product knowledge.
• Exercise sound judgment in resolving client and/or employee issues.
• Maintain strong knowledge of bank products and services to recognize cross-selling opportunities.
• Make outbound sales calls to current and prospective clients.
• Open new accounts, complete account maintenance, cross-sell products, and discuss available services.
• Prepare new account documents accurately and in a timely manner.
• Serve as a Notary if properly credentialed.
• Complete all operational duties required on a weekly, monthly, and quarterly basis according to bank policy.
• Complete all mandatory and elective training, including BSA (Bank Secrecy Act) and Anti-Money Laundering procedures.
• Maintain compliance with all appropriate rules and regulations.
• Regular, predictable attendance is required.
• Complete all other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• High School diploma or General Education degree (GED).
• Minimum of one (1) year of retail banking experience, including cash handling.
• Previous supervisory and sales experience are highly preferred.

• Above-average teller skills with the ability to accept/give instructions, reasoning, and problem-solving.
• Desire to oversee and assist others.
• Ability to prepare a cash order/manifest.
