UNIV - Research Program Assistant - Psychiatry: Neuromodulation & Behavioral Medicine

About the role

The program assistant will oversee, coordinate, and assist in the screening, recruitment, and enrollment of research participants for clinical treatment trials using behavioral and medication-based interventions for patients with obesity and tobacco use. The program assistant will be responsible for maintaining regulatory and training documents as required by Federal, State, Local, and Institutional protocol regulations and policies. The program assistant will provide administrative/technical assistance with grant proposals, internal/external audits, and publication and dissemination of research findings.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and manage tracking of all research participants, which includes recruitment, screening, scheduling, and enrollment in the trials (35%)
• Facilitate participant study visits throughout the trials, which involves collecting psychological and other health related research data, as well as reimbursement of research participants (30%)
• Document and manage participant data in electronic research records, including data entry (25%)
• Initiate and maintain accurate and comprehensive documentation as required by the Institutional Review Board and Good Clinical Practice Guidelines in connection with research trials (5%)
• Performs other duties as assigned (5%)

Qualifications

• A high school diploma and four years of relevant program experience; a bachelor's degree may be substituted for the required program experience
• Basic working knowledge of computer-based information systems is required
• Ability to interpret and apply laws, regulations, policies and procedures is required
• Excellent time management skills and attention to detail required
• Ability to present information effectively in both written and verbal form is required
• Ability to consistently exercise independent judgement and discretion is required
• Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with others is required

Preferred qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in psychology, biology, or other natural, life, or health care science and one year of research-related work experience
• Experience on federally-funded research studies and/or pharmaceutical trials
• Experience or familiarity with data management systems, including SPSS, REDCap, and/or OnCore

Pay

Pay range: $37,200.00 - $48,300.00 - $59,500.00. Pay rate type: Hourly. Pay grade: University-GEN06.
