UNIV - Program Assistant - Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation - Department of Orthopaedics

Job Duties

• Aid the PI in several ambulatory clinics by administering questionnaires and consents to patients; collect data needed for the study per the protocol; provide information to the study participants and answer study-related questions during their appointment.
• Contact study participants by phone or letter to schedule follow-up visits post-surgery for shoulder, knee, spine, and hip studies; conduct outcome study survey data collection by calling participants by phone and ask outcome questions for the shoulder, knee, spine, and hip long-term follow-up studies; utilize Excel to maintain enrollment logs and follow-up logs.
• Collect, compile, and input study data for study participants into specified databases; manage study data and prepare reports as deemed necessary by study PIs and Research Coordinator.
• Travel with Research Coordinator, when applicable, to clinic sites and provide assistance with participant recruitment, and data collection for research studies.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Minimum Requirements

• A high school diploma and two years relevant program experience.
• A bachelor's degree may be substituted for the required program experience.

• Ability to push/pull objects, up to 15 lbs., unassisted (Infrequent).
• Ability to maintain 20/40 vision, corrected, in one eye or with both eyes (Continuous).
• Ability to see and recognize objects close at hand (Frequent).
• Ability to see and recognize objects at a distance (Frequent).
• Ability to determine distance/relationship between objects; depth perception (Frequent).
• Good peripheral vision capabilities (Continuous).
• Ability to maintain hearing acuity, with correction (Continuous).
• Ability to hear and/or understand whispered conversations at a distance of 3 feet (Frequent).
• Ability to perform gross motor functions with frequent fine motor movements (Frequent).
• Ability to work in dusty areas (Infrequent).
