Job Description

The Department of Radiology & Radiological Science at the Medical University of South Carolina seeks full-time, onsite, General Radiologists to join its Community Radiology Group for its Midlands Division that includes Columbia and Kershaw.

Ideal Radiologists should be able to perform a broad range of diagnostic imaging services, Mammo, “light IR” procedures including biopsies but will consider all interested candidates. MUSC Minimum Requirements:

  • Applicants must have an MD or equivalent degree
  • be ABR Board-certified and fellowship trained
  • General radiologists must have experience in all aspects of general radiology, breast imaging (including ultrasounds and MR), and some light interventional radiology services
  • Interventional radiologist experience required
  • Must be able to obtain a permanent South Carolina medical license to be considered

  • Able to lift objects, up to 75 lbs., from floor level to height of 36 inches, unassisted (Frequent)
  • Able to lower objects, up to 75 lbs., from height of 36 inches to floor level, unassisted (Frequent)
  • Able to lift and carry patients weighing up to 300 lbs., assisted (Frequent)
  • Able to push/pull objects, up to 200 lbs., unassisted (Frequent)
  • Able to maintain 20/40 vision, corrected (Continuous)
  • Able to see and recognize objects close at hand (Continuous)
  • Able to see and recognize objects at a distance (Continuous)
  • Able to match or discriminate between colors (Continuous)
  • Able to determine distance/relationship between objects; depth perception (Continuous)
  • Good peripheral vision capabilities (Continuous)
  • Able to maintain hearing acuity, with correction (Continuous)
  • Able to hear and understand whispered conversations at a distance of 3 feet (Continuous)
  • Must be able to maintain bi-lateral hand movement skills (Continuous)
  • Able to perform gross motor functions with frequent fine motor movements (Continuous)
  • Able to be qualified physically (by medical personnel) for respirator use, initially and annually

Additional New Requirements

  • Able to maintain a valid drivers license
  • Computer literacy
  • Able to work rotating shifts
  • Able to work overtime as required
  • Able to learn and use new processes, tools and equipment as required
