About the role
The Department of Medicine, Division of Hematology Oncology at MUSC is seeking a senior level faculty member to lead the Sickle Cell Anemia Program and disseminate best practices, research, and therapies statewide.
Responsibilities
- Provide unifying leadership for the Sickle Cell Disease Program of MUSC.
- Lead the expansion of the multidisciplinary clinic with close collaboration across various specialties including pediatrics, pain management, internal medicine, behavioral health, palliative care, and others.
- Develop and expand the existing infrastructure of the Sickle Cell Disease Program.
- Promote high-quality clinical care and collaborate with translational and basic scientists to develop innovative clinical and translational research projects.
- Achieve effective communication and coordination with the state of South Carolina's sickle cell community, referring physicians, and affiliated healthcare providers.
- Innovate and implement telehealth clinics and technology-based communications for sickle cell patients.

Qualifications
- Hold current appointments at the Associate Professor or Professor level.
- Must have an MD/DO degree and be eligible for medical licensure in South Carolina.
- Board Certification in Adult and/or Pediatric Hematology-Oncology is required.
Skills
- Exceptional leadership skills.
- Strong clinical and research background in sickle cell disease.
- Ability to communicate effectively with diverse stakeholders.
- Experience in developing and implementing innovative care models.
