About the role
The Hematology Division of the Department of Oncology at Montefiore Medical Center and the Albert Einstein College of Medicine is seeking a Director of the Adult Sickle Cell Program. This position oversees New York City’s largest and most comprehensive Sickle Cell Program.
Responsibilities
- Oversee the operations and development of the Sickle Cell Program
- Optimize patient care and further develop the clinical trials program
- Be an integral part of the Adult Hematology Division and actively involved in teaching activities
- Advance care for the underserved patient population with sickle cell disease
- Understand administrative and clinical needs and have academic interests in clinical research and clinical trials
Requirements
- Dynamic leadership skills
- Experience in managing large-scale sickle cell programs
- Strong clinical and administrative background
- Academic interests in clinical research and clinical trials
Qualifications
- MD degree from an accredited medical school
- Board certification in hematology or related field
- At least 10 years of relevant work experience in hematology or related field
- Experience leading and managing a large sickle cell program
Skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines
- Strong organizational and project management skills
- Knowledge of clinical research and clinical trials
Benefits
A full comprehensive benefit package is offered including LTD, STD, paid malpractice, 403(b), and a generous salary between $350k-$400k commensurate with experience and academic rank.

Schedule
Call is approximately 1 weekend in 8 weeks.
