About the role

The Ophthalmology department is currently recruiting for a Glaucoma Ophthalmology Fellow. The 12-month Storm Eye Institute fellowship in glaucoma ophthalmology is designed to ensure that participants develop the knowledge base, diagnostic reasoning, and clinical and surgical skills necessary to provide quality, ethical, ophthalmic eye care to patients with glaucoma.

The 12-month Storm Eye Institute fellowships are designed to ensure that participants develop the knowledge base, diagnostic reasoning, and clinical and surgical skills necessary to provide high-quality and ethical ophthalmic care. Requirements

• M.D. or Equivalent Postdoctoral Scholars/Fellows
• MUSC Physical Requirements (Ability to perform job functions in an upright position, in a seated position, while walking/mobile, indoors, in all cold temperature extremes, bending at the waist, twisting at the waist, performing 'pinching' operations, fully using both hands/arms, performing repetitive motions with hands/wrists/elbows and shoulders, reaching in all directions, possessing good finger dexterity, maintaining tactile sensory functions, lifting and carrying 15 lbs., unassisted, lifting objects, up to 15 lbs., from floor level to height of 72 inches, unassisted, lowering objects, up to 15 lbs., from height of 72 inches to floor level, unassisted, pushing/pulling objects, up to 15 lbs., unassisted, maintaining 20/40 vision, corrected, seeing and recognizing objects close at hand, seeing and recognizing objects at a distance, matching or discriminating between colors, determining distance/relationship between objects; depth perception, good peripheral vision capabilities, maintaining hearing acuity, with correction, performing gross motor functions with frequent fine motor movements, being qualified physically (by medical personnel) for respirator use, initially and annually, working alone in isolated areas, such as darkrooms)
• Additional New Requirements: Ability to obtain and maintain a valid drivers license, computer literacy, ability to work rotating shifts as required, ability to work overtime as required, ability to learn and use new processes, tools and equipment as required
