Job Description
The Sleep, Mood, Anxiety Research & Treatment (SMART) Division within the Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences at the Medical University of South Carolina (MUSC) in Charleston, SC is seeking a full-time faculty member to provide evidence-based outpatient treatment for a wide spectrum of sleep, anxiety or mood disorders, including common co-morbid sensory processing conditions (tinnitus, eating, smell & taste disturbances).
Responsibilities
- See patients
- Supervise trainees
- Participate in program activities (e.g., journal clubs, case conferences)
Requirements
- Must hold a terminal degree (M.D., Ph.D. or related)
- Must have a valid SC Medical Psychologist license
Physical Requirements

- Ability to maintain 20/40 vision, corrected
- Ability to see and recognize objects close at hand
- Ability to see and recognize objects at a distance
- Ability to match or discriminate between colors
- Ability to determine distance/relationship between objects; depth perception
- Good peripheral vision capabilities
- Ability to maintain hearing acuity, with correction
- Ability to hear and understand whispered conversations at a distance of 3 feet
- Must be able to maintain bi-lateral hand movement skills
- Ability to perform gross motor functions with frequent fine motor movements
- Ability to be qualified physically (by medical personnel) for respirator use, initially and annually
Additional New Requirements
- Ability to maintain a valid drivers license
- Computer literacy
- Ability to work rotating shifts
- Ability to work overtime as required
- Ability to learn and use new processes, tools and equipment as required
