Unit Secretary - Inpatient Psych - (FT Days)

About the Role

The Psychiatry department consists of three inpatient units (Intensive, Medicine, and Geriatric) and an Outpatient ECT, staffed by passionate and knowledgeable healthcare providers. The department delivers high-quality, patient-centered psychiatric care using group activity and music therapies, one-to-one care, and an interdisciplinary team in state-of-the-art units. A combined total of 46 inpatient beds serve a wide range of psychiatric illnesses, with safety as a high priority for both patients and staff.

Location & Schedule

Location: Barnes-Jewish Hospital (South)

• Schedule: 7:00 AM - 7:30 PM
• Every 3rd weekend and rotating holidays

Responsibilities

• Supports clinical operations by providing customer service and clerical support.
• Transcribes physician orders with close attention to detail.
• Notifies appropriate nurse when STAT orders are written or when coordinating tests and procedures.
• Communicates new orders to the healthcare team as appropriate.

Requirements

• Education: High School Diploma or GED
• Experience: No prior experience required
• Supervisor Experience: Not required
