Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Monitor the CSP board to ensure the accuracy of patient placements, discharges, and pending reviews from outside facilities, and communicate updates to the Charge Nurse for appropriate follow-up.
- Cook up and facilitate nurse-to-nurse and physician-to-physician reports as needed.
- Answer incoming telephone calls to the nursing stations and route calls to the appropriate staff member.
- Communicate admissions, transfers, and discharges between the Temporary Observation (TO), Crisis Stabilization Center (CSC), and Crisis Stabilization Unit (CSU) teams.
- Prepare treatment team documentation, including signature pages, laboratory results, and other required paperwork for provider review.
- Maintain accurate and current Cardex information.
- Scan completed documentation into the electronic medical record, ensuring all documents are complete and properly indexed prior to scanning.
- Maintain and update shift report documentation and submit to the Charge Nurse for final review.
- Maintain the patient waitlist and contact individuals, as directed, to confirm continued need for placement.
- Prepare and copy necessary unit documents, including PIN sheets, COVID-19 screening forms, and other operational materials.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and HIPAA-compliant nursing station, ensuring Protected Health Information (PHI) is properly secured at all times.
- Maintain copies of 1013 forms and submit required documentation to the appropriate manager.
- Monitor involuntary commitment paperwork and notify the treatment team of upcoming 1013 expiration deadlines to ensure compliance with required timeframes.
- Communicate with Food Services to provide daily census information, meal counts, and special dietary needs.
Requirements
- A High School Diploma/GED Equivalent.
- A Valid Georgia Driver’s License.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work effectively with diverse communities.
- The ability to work independently and in collaboration with others.
- Experience with Microsoft 365 Office Products.
Qualifications
- Previous administrative or secretarial experience.
- Previous experience in a healthcare setting.
