Unit Manager (UM)

About the role

The Unit Manager at Ciena Healthcare supervises nursing care provided by various healthcare professionals and contributes to guest assessments and the development of care plans.

Responsibilities

• Supervises nursing care provided by Registered Nurses (RN), Licensed Practical Nurses (LPN), Certified Nursing Assistants (CNA) and others.
• Reviews and implements all nursing procedures and systems.
• Affirms and evaluates the systems facilitating the delivery of quality guest care and staff performance.
• Utilizes a systematic approach in the nursing process to provide individualized nursing care.
• Contributes to guest assessments (MDS/CAA’s) and the development and implementation of a plan of care.
• Evaluates guests' responses to nursing interventions.
• Understands the rationale for the use of medications and treatments and correctly administers as needed.

Requirements

• Current state registered nursing licensure required (RN).
• Current CPR certification and additional certification in a nursing specialty are desired.
• Management or supervisor experience in long-term care or geriatric nursing preferred.

• Current state registered nursing licensure required (RN).
