Unit Manager

About the role

The Unit Manager - RN oversees the care management of a population of patients within an assigned area, unit or clinical function. They utilize expertise in the leadership role as a manager; supervise and coordinate nursing personnel in providing direct resident care in adherence to State, Federal and corporate guidelines. The Unit Manager - RN also coordinates resource utilization, timely and appropriate care interventions, and interdisciplinary communication to enhance patient and family satisfaction, adherence to center’s clinical systems and regulatory compliance.

Responsibilities

• Promote and facilitate teamwork
• Utilize expertise in the leadership role as a manager
• Serve as a supervisor and coordinator of nursing personnel
• Ensure adherence to State, Federal and corporate guidelines
• Coordinate resource utilization, timely and appropriate care interventions
• Interact with interdisciplinary teams for enhanced patient and family satisfaction
• Ensure adherence to clinical systems and regulatory compliance

Requirements

• Promote and facilitate teamwork
• Demonstrate a high standard of ethics
• Have valid RN or LPN license
• Have knowledge of nursing and medical procedures, as well as laws, regulations and guidelines pertaining to nursing care facilities
• Show leadership and supervisory skills
• Able to make independent decisions
