Unit Clerk
About the role
As a Unit Clerk at Starr Regional Medical Center, you will play a crucial role in supporting the healthcare team and enhancing patient care.
Responsibilities
- Greets patients and visitors.
- Answers, screens, and routes telephone calls.
- Calls codes, pages, and overhead announcements as requested.
- Enters nursing requests subject to the approval of a licensed nurse.
- Asks for clarification when necessary.
- Affixes patient records and charts.
- Performs clerical tasks such as copying, filing, and ordering/stocking supplies.
- Assists RNs and physicians with other patient activities as needed.
Requirements
A high school diploma or equivalent is preferred. An Associate's degree is also preferred.
Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent preferred; Associate's degree Preferred
Skills
Excellent communication skills, attention to detail, and ability to work independently and as part of a team.
