Unit Associate (SEIU), Per Diem, Variable Shift

About the Location

Nestled on the Central California Coast, Adventist Health Sierra Vista has been providing care to our community since 1959. Our 162-bed acute care facility includes a Level III Neonatal Intensive Care Unit and county designated trauma center. About the Role

Greets and directs visitors. Prepares and maintains medical records. Responds to patient requests for assistance. Provides information to patients, families, and physicians. Provides other clerical support to the nursing team as required. This position is represented by SEIU.

Responsibilities

• Processes orders and assists unit visitors and callers.
• Ascertains flow of patient admissions/transfers.
• Assists in scheduling patient procedures and assembling patient charts.
• Performs data collection and maintains data on an ongoing basis.
• Participates in regulatory environmental compliance duties, clearing hallways and calling for equipment/pick-up as needed.
• Performs other job-related duties as assigned.

Requirements

• High School Education/GED or equivalent: Preferred
• Associate’s/Technical Degree or equivalent combination of education/related experience: Preferred
• One year's relevant experience: Preferred
• Hospital or medical office experience: Preferred
• Unit Secretary training course: Preferred
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from approved vendor per AH policy: Required

Pay

The estimated base pay for this position is $25.00 to $30.45 per hour. Additional individual compensation may be available for this role through differentials, extra shift incentives, bonuses, etc.

• Shift: Variable (12 hours)
• Assignment Category: Per Diem
