About the Location

Nestled on the Central California Coast, Adventist Health Sierra Vista is a 162-bed acute care facility that has served the community since 1959. The hospital features a Level III Neonatal Intensive Care Unit and is a county-designated trauma center. Located in San Luis Obispo, the area offers a lively community with easy access to Avila Beach (known for natural hot springs) and Pismo Beach (famous for sand dunes and eucalyptus trees). About the Role

This position delivers courier and interdepartmental mail, assists with stock clerk duties, and provides distribution and inventory management services. The role includes delivering and receiving both clean and soiled items, as well as coordinating and leading the patient transportation strategy to ensure safe daily operations. This position is represented by SEIU.

Responsibilities

• Picks up and delivers required items, maintains logs of all calls, and conducts vehicle safety inspections and maintenance.
• Provides general support to the clinical laboratory, including dropping off and picking up incoming and outgoing laboratory specimens or biohazardous substances.
• Maintains and adheres to department and position quality and productivity standards.
• Ensures safe handling of materials and general public safety when operating transportation.
• Performs other job-related duties as assigned.

Requirements

• High School Education/GED or equivalent: Preferred
• Associate’s/Technical Degree or equivalent combination of education/related experience: Preferred
• Valid Driver’s License (DL) and must be at least 21 years of age or older: Required

Pay

The estimated base pay for this position is $25.00 to $27.04 per hour. Additional individual compensation may be available through differentials, extra shift incentives, bonuses, etc. Base pay is only a portion of the total rewards package, and a comprehensive benefits program is available for qualifying positions.
