Unit Associate/ED Technician, Part-time, Night Shift

About the role

Provides information to patients, families and physicians. Greets and directs visitors. Prepares and maintains medical records. Responds to patient requests for assistance. Provides personal care under the direction of a licensed nurse. Maintains responsibility for accurately and responsively performing routine assigned clinical tasks of limited complexity.

Responsibilities

• Assists the Registered Nurse (RN) and physician with assessments, examinations and treatments.
• Performs a variety clerical duties including routing patient reports, as appropriate.
• Affixes patient procedures, assembles charts and maintains patient flow.
• Maintains responsibility for accurately and responsively performing routine assigned clinical tasks of limited complexity.
• Documents patient care performed including vital signs, bedside care and observations.
• Performs tasks associated with activities of daily living and provides assessment data to Registered Nurse (RN).
• Performs routine assigned tasks and reports patients’ status and concerns to the RN.
• Requires minimal independent judgment.
• Maintains state of readiness by maintaining equipment/supplies appropriate to the position.
• Affixes costs through appropriate ordering and conserving of supplies and equipment.
• Makes decisions regarding own work, often limited and confined to routine matters.
• Prioritizes patient care and department needs, sets goals and organizes time to meet daily demands of nursing care.
• Observes, documents and reports patient condition, and changes to condition, to the RN and/or Physician/Provider.

Requirements

• Education and Work Experience: High School Education/GED or equivalent: Required Associate’s/Technical Degree or equivalent combination of education/related experience: Preferred
• Licenses/Certifications: Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) Certification: Preferred Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) certification or Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from approved vendor per AH policy: Required Phlebotomy Certification: Preferred Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA), Medical Assistant (CMA) or Paramedic certification: Preferred Facility Specific License/Certifications Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from approved vendor per AH policy: Required

Pay

The estimated base pay for this position is $21.38 to $27.90. Additional individual compensation may be available for this role through differentials, extra shift incentives, bonuses, etc. Base pay is only a portion of the total rewards package, and a comprehensive benefits program is available for qualifying positions.
