Responsibilities

  • Assists the Registered Nurse (RN) and physician with assessments, examinations and treatments.
  • Documents patient care performed, including vital signs, bedside care and observations.
  • Maintains state of readiness by maintaining equipment/supplies appropriate to the position.
  • Affords assistance in cost containment through the appropriate ordering and conserving of supplies and equipment.
  • Prioritizes patient care and department needs, sets goals, and organizes time to meet daily demands of nursing care.
  • Observes, documents and reports patient condition and changes in condition to the RN, MD/Provider.
  • Provides patient and family education within scope of practice.
  • Documents patient care performed, including vital signs, bedside care and observations. Records and collects specimens.
  • Performs other job-related duties as assigned.
  • Organizes and prioritizes tasks to meet departmental and patient care needs.

Requirements

  • Education and Work Experience: High School Education/GED or equivalent: Required Associate's/Technical Degree or equivalent combination of education/related experience: Preferred
  • Licenses/Certifications: Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) Certification: Preferred Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) certification or Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from approved vendor per AH policy: Required Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA), Medical Assistant (CMA) or Paramedic certification: Preferred Phlebotomist Technician license: Preferred Facility Specific License/Certifications Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from approved vendor per AH policy: Required Department Specific License/Certifications Crisis Prevention Intervention (CPI) or Techniques for Effective Aggression Management (TEAM) or TEAM-A: Required

Qualifications

  • High School Education/GED or equivalent: Required
  • Associate's/Technical Degree or equivalent combination of education/related experience: Preferred
  • Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) Certification: Preferred
  • Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) certification or Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from approved vendor per AH policy: Required

Pay

The estimated base pay for this position is $25.00 to $30.01. Additional individual compensation may be available for this role through differentials, extra shift incentives, bonuses, etc. Base pay is only a portion of the total rewards package, and a comprehensive benefits program is available for qualifying positions.
