About the role

We are seeking a talented and motivated Union Helper to join our fire business unit.

Responsibilities

• Service, test, and inspect fire alarm systems.
• Ensure equipment is functional and operational.
• Diagnose causes of problems or failures in systems to identify equipment and systems repair.
• Replace system components as assigned, including panels and audible/visual alarms.
• Provide technical support to customers, including remote phone diagnosis and troubleshooting of signal issues related to formats and receivers.
• Interact professionally with customers.
• Coordinate with manager and dispatcher to complete service and work orders efficiently.
• Inform dispatcher and/or manager of service status to take appropriate action.
• Perform fire alarm inspections.
• Maintain assigned tools and equipment.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED.
• Trade school graduate.
• 1-2 years of direct fire alarm industry work experience across multiple fire alarm system manufacturers.
• Clear background check.

Qualifications (Preferred)

• Edwards Systems certifications.
• New York City – Certificate of Fitness for Fire Alarm Systems Inspections, Testing, and Service (S-98).
• NICET II Certification.
• NYC DOB SST Card.
