Unexploded Ordnance Safety Officer (UXOSO) Philippines

About the role

The Unexploded Ordnance Safety Officer (UXOSO) is responsible for ensuring the safety of personnel and assets in areas where unexploded ordnance may be present.

Responsibilities

• Conduct regular inspections and surveys to identify potential UXO hazards.
• Develop and implement safety protocols to mitigate UXO risks.
• Train and brief personnel on UXO safety procedures.
• Coordinate with local authorities and contractors to manage UXO removal projects.
• Document all UXO-related activities and incidents for record-keeping and reporting purposes.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science, Geology, or a related field.
• At least 3 years of experience in UXO detection and clearance operations.
• Valid driver’s license and access to a reliable vehicle.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.

• Knowledge of UXO detection technologies and methods.
• Experience with hazardous materials handling and disposal.
• Understanding of environmental regulations and compliance requirements.
