Unmanned Systems (UxS) Technician with Security Clearance

Responsibilities

  • Integrate embedded systems, mission payloads, and enabling technologies onto unmanned air systems.
  • Model, configure, and implement technical solutions that enhance system performance and support mission requirements.
  • Ensure seamless interoperability between onboard systems, ground control stations, communication links, and mission software.
  • Conduct system-level checks, functional assessments, and performance verification prior to operational use.
  • Provide technical documentation, system configuration records, and integration plans to support engineering and operational teams.
  • Collaborate with engineers, operators, and program personnel to resolve technical issues and deliver reliable system readiness.
  • Support fielding, deployment preparation, and sustainment of unmanned systems across mission environments.

Qualifications

  • Secret Clearance - TS/SCI Eligible
  • B.S. in Electrical Engineering or Technician in an applicable engineering or science field.
  • Minimum of 3 years of hands-on professional experience with Degree or 7 years of experience without Degree.
  • FAA Part 107 or obtain within 6 months of employment.
  • Extensive knowledge in BetaFlight, ArduPilot, and PX4 - 5 years.
  • Extensive knowledge and hands-on experience building drones - 5 years.
  • Knowledgeable in electronic propulsion and combustible power systems - 5 years.
  • Proficient in building, testing, and troubleshooting electrical and mechanical assemblies. Includes knowledge of analog and digital circuits, AC/DC electronics, and the ability to use test equipment, such as a multi meter, spectrum analyzer and oscilloscopes.
  • Knowledgeable and comfortable selecting electronic parts and sensors for various projects.
  • Technician must be comfortable working in a shop environment with loud noises and industrial power tools. May be required to lift 50 lbs.
  • Adept, with power and hand tools for assembly and repairs.
  • Proficient using computer aided design (CAD) software for rapid prototyping and additive manufacturing.
  • Skilled in soldering and de-soldering electrical components, including surface mounted devices (SMD) and various sensors.
  • Ability to perform routine maintenance, diagnose issues, and conduct repairs using technical manuals. Includes hardware assembly, troubleshooting common error messages, and primary/secondary/servicing.
  • Familiar with C, C++, and python. Ability to use developmental tools, including Integrated Development Environments (IDEs), compilers, and hardware debuggers, to compile firmware or troubleshoot low-level issues.
