Underwriting Manager

About the role
In this pivotal role, you will manage client relationships, assess insurance needs, provide expert guidance, and actively contribute to retaining and growing our book of business.
Growth & Mentorship: Direct opportunity to progress into a Client Executive role through dedicated mentorship, client exposure, and full P&C licensing support.
Responsibilities
- Manage ongoing client relationships, evaluate specific personal lines insurance needs, and recommend proper coverage placements to ensure client protection and satisfaction.
- Work constructively to retain, expand, and optimize the existing personal lines book of business in alignment with organizational goals.
- Utilize carrier applications to efficiently generate accurate quotes, execute policy changes, and streamline servicing workflows.
- Foster strong teamwork, collaborate effectively within the underwriting division, and maintain seamless communication across all agency units.
- Apply expert negotiation skills to secure optimal terms and provide high-level consultation to policyholders.
Requirements
- Minimum of 5 years of relevant insurance underwriting experience, with a heavy emphasis on personal lines.
- Valid Property & Casualty (P&C) license.
- Proficiency with Agency Management Systems (AMS360 strongly preferred) and comfort utilizing various insurance carrier platforms for quote generation and policy adjustments.
- Superior verbal and written communication polish, alongside exceptional negotiation and active listening skills.
- Excellent problem-solving, time management, organizational, and prioritization abilities with a dedicated commitment to customer service excellence.
Pay
Salary Range: $80,000 – $90,000 USD base structure + Performance Bonus.
