Responsibilities

• Conduct on‑site inspections of residential and commercial properties, carefully documenting key features and conditions.
• Capture clear photographs.
• Identify potential hazards or underwriting concerns.
• Gather the critical details needed for accurate evaluations.
• Compile thorough underwriting survey reports that help guide important risk decisions.
• Dispatch daily from home with no central office reporting required.

Qualifications

• Preferred backgrounds include insurance inspection or underwriting inspections, property appraisal or real estate, home inspection services, claims adjusting, construction or commercial contracting, loss control or related field services, emergency services or first responder roles.
• Thrive in an independent work environment.
• Organized and production‑focused while managing multiple assignments.
• Possess strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Demonstrate sound judgment, adaptability, and resourceful problem‑solving.
• Comfortable using measuring equipment, smartphones, Microsoft Office, and Windows‑based computers.
• Have reliable transportation and are willing to travel throughout the service area.
• Enjoy working both outdoors and from a home office while completing reports and administrative tasks.
• Education is not required; practical experience, reliability, and a willingness to learn are valued.
• Must have the ability to pass a background check.

Pay

We offer our Underwriting Field Inspector a competitive wage of $20–$28 per billable hour.

Schedule

Field Operating Hours: Normal operating hours are from 8:00AM until 8:00PM, or dusk, whichever is earlier, Monday through Saturday. Unless requested by the policyholder or resident no surveys (or phone contact) will be completed after 8:00PM or on Sundays or Holidays. You will dispatch daily from home with no central office reporting required.
