Underwriting Field Inspector

Information Providers, Inc. (IPI) is hiring a part-time 1099 Underwriting Field Inspector in Katy, TX. This role offers flexibility, independence, and the opportunity to work in the field, conducting on-site inspections of residential and commercial properties. Responsibilities
- Conduct on-site inspections of residential and commercial properties.
- Document key features and conditions, including capturing clear photographs.
- Identify potential hazards or underwriting concerns.
- Compile thorough underwriting survey reports to guide risk decisions.
- Manage multiple assignments independently and efficiently.
- Complete reports and administrative tasks from a home office.
Qualifications
- Experience in residential or commercial properties, insurance, construction, or inspections.
- Preferred backgrounds include insurance inspection, property appraisal, home inspection, claims adjusting, construction, loss control, or emergency services.
- Ability to thrive in an independent work environment.
- Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Proficiency with measuring equipment, smartphones, Microsoft Office, and Windows-based computers.
- Reliable transportation and willingness to travel throughout the service area.
- Ability to pass a background check.
Pay
We offer a competitive wage of $20–$28 per billable hour.
Schedule
Flexible hours with normal operating hours from 8:00 AM until 8:00 PM (or dusk, whichever is earlier), Monday through Saturday. No surveys or phone contact after 8:00 PM, Sundays, or Holidays unless requested by the policyholder.
