Underwriting Audit Specialist
About the role
Philadelphia Insurance Companies, a member of the Tokio Marine Group, designs, markets and underwrites commercial property/casualty and professional liability insurance products for select industries. We have been in operation since 1962 and are nationally recognized as a member of Ward's Top 50 and rated A++ by A.M.Best. Philadelphia Insurance Companies is expanding our Compliance team with Nationwide consideration for an Underwriting Audit Specialist.
Responsibilities
- Conduct audits on new and renewal property and casualty policies for a wide variety of niche products as well as ad-hoc big data analytics.
- Assess quality of risk selection, adherence to established underwriting guidelines and procedures, rating accuracy, data integrity and regulatory compliance.
- Compile and distribute audit results and review with Underwriting management.
- Perform data analysis to identify causal factors and develop action plans for the corresponding business unit.
- Collaborate with Underwriting management in the implementation of recommendations including development of new or revisions to existing guidelines and/or processes, technological enhancements and training.
- Develop training programs including preparation of training materials and conducting training.
Requirements
- At least 3+ years’ underwriting experience with a commercial insurance carrier.
- Bachelor's Degree and/or equivalent work experience.
- Knowledge and understanding of state laws and regulations regarding insurance.
- Ability to gather and interpret information to develop, recommend and implement solutions.
- Detail oriented with excellent organizational and planning skills.
- Ability to work independently and with a team.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Pay
National Range: $70,000.00 - $78,000.00. Ultimate salary offered will be based on factors such as applicant experience and geographic location.
Schedule
We offer a hybrid work model that provides flexibility to work remotely while maintaining meaningful in-office collaboration with your team. Remote consideration will be given to qualified candidates located outside of the primary geographic region.
