Underwriting Audit Specialist
About the role
Philadelphia Insurance Companies, a member of the Tokio Marine Group, designs, markets and underwrites commercial property/casualty and professional liability insurance products for select industries. We have been in operation since 1962 and are nationally recognized as a member of Ward's Top 50 and rated A++ by A.M. Best. The company is expanding its Compliance team with nationwide consideration for an Underwriting Audit Specialist.
Responsibilities
- Perform property and casualty policy audits to ensure compliance with state regulations and adherence to established company policies and procedures.
- Conduct audits on new and renewal property and casualty policies across a wide variety of niche products, as well as ad-hoc big data analytics.
- Assess the quality of risk selection, adherence to underwriting guidelines and procedures, rating accuracy, data integrity, and regulatory compliance.
- Compile and distribute audit results and review findings with Underwriting management.
- Perform data analysis to identify causal factors and develop action plans for the corresponding business unit.
- Collaborate with Underwriting management to implement recommendations, including development or revisions to guidelines, processes, technological enhancements, and training.
- Develop training programs, prepare training materials, and conduct training sessions.
Qualifications
- At least 3+ years of underwriting experience with a commercial insurance carrier.
- Bachelor's degree and/or equivalent work experience.
- Knowledge and understanding of state laws and regulations regarding insurance.
- Ability to gather and interpret information to develop, recommend, and implement solutions.
- Detail-oriented with excellent organizational and planning skills.
- Ability to work independently and with a team.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Pay
National range: $70,000.00 – $78,000.00. Ultimate salary offered will be based on factors such as applicant experience and geographic location.
Schedule
Hybrid work model with flexibility to work remotely while maintaining meaningful in-office collaboration. Remote consideration will be given to qualified candidates located outside of the primary geographic region.
