Underwriting Assistant, Custom Property - Hybrid
About the role
Seneca Custom Property is seeking a dedicated Underwriting Assistant.
Responsibilities
- Using and booking of policies and endorsements within all department standards
- Performing all pre-quote work required by underwriting
- Completing Fac Cession Slips (Reinsurance)
- Calculating RP/AP transactions based on account rate/underwriting instructions
- Determining pro-rate/short rate factors
- Running Risk Browser Modeling
- Issuing notices (Non-Renewal, Cancellations and Reinstatements)
- Ordering Loss Runs
Requirements
- High school diploma/GED required, Bachelor's degree preferred
- 1-2 years of Insurance Company Operations
- Strong communications and organizational skills, able to multi-task
- Proficient in various Microsoft software applications, such as Excel and Word
- Able to abide by departmental policies and procedures including guidelines placed by the Property Management Team
Qualifications
- High school diploma/GED required, Bachelor's degree preferred

Pay
The annualized base pay for the advertised position, located in the specified area, ranges from a minimum of $43,900.00 to a maximum of $64,400.00. The actual compensation is determined by various factors, including but not limited to the market pay for the jobs at each level, the responsibilities and skills required for each job, and the employee’s contribution (performance) in that role. To be considered within market range, a salary is at or above the minimum of the range. You may also have the opportunity to participate in discretionary equity (stock) based compensation and/or performance-based variable pay programs.
Schedule
This is a hybrid role for the Chicago area or Cherry Hills, NJ, with a strong preference in Chicago.
