Underwriting Assistant, Property

Duties and Responsibilities

• Support all phases of the underwriting processes including but not limited to: Booking and billing new and renewal accounts
• Aid underwriters in renewal preparation
• Achieve various reports required for the underwriting function
• Perform risk analysis by inputting data into risk decisioner in the proper format
• Prepare policies and endorsements for underwriter review as well as process the endorsement in Starr Tech software programs such as Chameleon and Sales force
• Afford assistance with internal audit process, following up with brokers on needed information
• Perform all other duties as directed by area management

Skills and Experience Required

• 1-2+ years of related Property underwriting assistance OR Inland Marine or Construction underwriting assistance experience preferred
• Strong communication and organizational skills
• Ability to handle multiple tasks and priorities
• Strong computer skills with advanced knowledge of MS Excel and Word
