Underwriting Assistant

Responsibilities
- Support the underwriting departments with pre-quote transaction support, including data entry and verification.
- Assist in the completion of transactions, including binding orders, policy drafting, and post-bind transactions.
- Contribute to the team environment by communicating with other departments, answering policy questions, resolving issues, and identifying process improvements.
- Review and report on key reports and ensure compliance with company standards.
Requirements
- Strong expertise in surplus lines policy issuance and post-bind operations.
- A high school diploma or GED, with a college degree preferred.
- Exceptional attention to detail, organizational skills, and ability to take initiative.
- Solid computer skills including proficiency in Microsoft Office.
- Excellent math and data analysis skills, comfortable interpreting and manipulating report data.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Strong problem-solving skills to identify and resolve discrepancies.
- High level of accuracy in reviewing documents, entering data, and processing transactions.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Pay
The annualized base pay for the advertised position, located in the specified area, ranges from a minimum of $36,000.00 to a maximum of $67,800.00. The actual compensation is determined by various factors, including but not limited to the market pay for the jobs at each level, the responsibilities and skills required for each job, and the employee's contribution (performance) in that role. To be considered within market range, a salary is at or above the minimum of the range. You may also have the opportunity to participate in discretionary equity (stock) based compensation and/or performance-based variable pay programs.
