Underwriting Assistant

About the role

Bridge Specialty Group is seeking an Underwriting Assistant to join their growing team in Morristown, NJ. The ideal candidate will work with the Underwriter to ensure all required information is obtained, applications are completed, quotes and binders are confirmed, policies are issued promptly and accurately, and state filings are made in accordance with state laws.

Responsibilities

• Work with the Underwriter to obtain all required information and complete applications.
• Confirm quotes and binders in writing.
• Issue policies promptly and accurately.
• Maintain compliance with state laws regarding tax payments.
• Provide full support for the sales and production process, including providing new business quotes as needed.
• Issue renewals and review risks submitted by producers.
• Rate submissions for premium and terms and issue written binders.
• Review indications, quotes, binders, submissions, and policies for completeness and accuracy.
• Use all agency management software systems and suggest labor-saving uses to management.
• Order and review inspections, identifying different exposures of risks and verifying information obtained on inspections with policy information.
• Issue Certificates of Insurance.

Requirements

A High School Diploma or equivalent is required. Exceptional telephone demeanor and a high level of confidentiality are essential. One to two years of related experience is preferred.

Pay

The pay range for this position is $24.03 - $28.84 per hour.
