Underwriter Business Analyst I

About the Role
Under direct supervision, support for assigned new and renewal accounts. This includes collecting data, account setup, rating, producing quotes and binders, issuing policies and endorsements. Proactively assist in ensuring the underwriting process is handled efficiently and accurately. Provide Underwriters with required reports and analysis. This is an entry-level position responsible for completing routine assignments while developing foundational skills and gaining experience in analysis and problem-solving.
Responsibilities
- Provide operational product development for Stop Loss, Individual, Jumbo, Public and National Market Lines, ensuring accurate, timely policy service.
- Coordinate underwriters and internal partners to resolve service needs, answer questions, and support workflow execution.
- Identify issues early, work with underwriting partners to resolve them, and escalate when appropriate.
- Interpret data and set up accounts in appropriate system(s) ensuring accuracy, often working directly with the underwriter.
- Monitor underwriting funnel performance, including renewals, quote volume, and identify and communicate the drivers behind observed trends.
- Prepare underwriter ERISA files using underwriting software (STEPWISE) to provide pricing data.
Requirements
- High School Diploma/GED required.
- Minimum of two (2) years experience in an operational role.
- Basic understanding of the healthcare industry preferred.
- Strong computer proficiency, including Microsoft Office applications (Access, Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Demonstrated teamwork, analytical thinking, and interpersonal skills.

Pay
Salary Range: $56,200 - $75,285. This compensation range is specific to the job level and takes into account the wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions, including but not limited to: education, experience, licensure, certifications, geographic location, and internal equity.
