About the role

This is a full-time, temporary internship with the Power and Energy Team, based in our Foxborough, MA office. The position is part of the WSP Summer Internship Program, scheduled to start on May 17th, 2027, with some flexibility in the individual start date. The role offers the opportunity to work on global power delivery, generation, and program management projects, helping shape how energy systems evolve worldwide.

Responsibilities

  • Support a variety of engineering tasks to develop technical, social, and ethical skills.
  • Learn basic principles of Civil Engineering.
  • Assist with project research, field work, and preliminary design calculations and analysis.
  • Support preparation of final design plans, special provisions, and cost estimates.
  • Assist in collecting and maintaining project documentation.
  • Complete training on assigned tasks.
  • Exercise responsible and ethical decision-making regarding company funds, resources, and conduct, adhering to WSP’s Code of Conduct and related policies.
  • Perform additional responsibilities as required by business needs.

Note: There is no relocation or housing assistance associated with this internship.

Requirements

  • Actively enrolled in an accredited Civil Engineering (or related) Undergraduate program with an anticipated graduation date of August 2027 or later.
  • Must be 18 or older.
  • Demonstrated interest in Civil Engineering or a related field, with a strong desire to advance skills related to WSP’s work and projects.
  • Competent interpersonal and communication skills when interacting with others, expressing ideas effectively and professionally to engineering and non-engineering audiences.
  • Capable of taking direction from leadership, mentors, and managers to execute projects.
  • Basic proficiency with technical writing, office automation, software, spreadsheets, technology, and tools.
  • Proven track record of upholding workplace safety and ability to abide by WSP’s health, safety, drug/alcohol, and harassment policies.
  • Authorization to work in the United States at the start of the internship.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Prior internship experience.
  • Leadership involvement on campus.

Pay

Expected pay range: $24.76 - $32.22 per hour. WSP USA provides this range based on the successful applicant’s education, experience, knowledge, skills, abilities, and internal equity, as well as the specific geographic location. The company reserves the right to adjust pay or offer additional benefits depending on circumstances.
