About the role

Inter-Con Security Systems, Inc. is seeking qualified candidates for the position of Security Officer. This role involves securing vital assets and being part of an elite team providing advanced security solutions.

Responsibilities

• Secure some of our most vital assets using enhanced security procedures and cutting-edge technology.
• Train in advanced security procedures and exposure to cutting-edge technology.
• Stand or walk for a consecutive eight (8) hour shift.
• Climb stairs.
• Lift and carry objects similar in weight to a fire extinguisher (i.e., objects weighing 25 lbs.).
• Adequately assist persons requiring aid or assistance.
• Perform visual ID checks.
• Use computer skills and type effectively.
• Carry a valid TSA Transportation Workers Identification Credential (TWIC).
• Complete OSHA certified and 10-hour Occupational Safety and Health Training course in General Industry Safety and Health.
• Have relevant military, National Guard, or security guard experience.

Requirements

• Minimum 18 years of age.
• High school diploma or GED.
• Effective written and oral communication skills.
• Completed all required training and registration pursuant to the Security Guard Act and possess a valid NYSDOS photo I.D.
• New York State Photo Driver License.
• Fire Guard (F-00/F-01/F-32/F-36/F-91) Certification from the New York City Fire Department.
• Ability to stand or walk for a consecutive eight (8) hour shift.
• Ability to climb stairs.
• Ability to lift and carry objects similar in weight to a fire extinguisher (i.e., objects weighing 25 lbs.).
• Adequate eyesight for visual ID checks.
• Proficient in typing and computer skills.
• Valid TSA Transportation Workers Identification Credential (TWIC).
• OSHA certified and completed 10-hour Occupational Safety and Health Training course in General Industry Safety and Health.
• Two years of relevant military, National Guard, or security guard experience.

Qualifications

• Two years of prior Military experience on active duty with an honorable discharge (DD214) from any branch of the military or Coast Guard.
• Two years’ experience as a member of the National Guard or Military Reserves.
• Two years of full-time experience as a NYSDOS registered New York State security guard.
• Two years full-time experience as a Police Officer, Probation Officer or Corrections Officer.
• Two Years of security officer experience.

Pay

$18.00 - $20.00 per hour

Schedule

Nights, Weekends, Holidays and overtime as directed. Open availability for various shifts and Holidays as assigned.
