Unarmed Security Guard Night Shift

Onsite night-shift position in Nashville, TN (37214). Three openings available.

About the role

Entry-level security guard position responsible for institutional and related security work. Employees in this role may be assigned to any shift and are tasked with a full range of security activities, including the protection of public buildings.

Responsibilities

• Performs security activities such as patrolling facilities, monitoring alarms and security systems, checking safety hazards, and identifying violations of laws and rules.
• Operates security equipment, including two-way radios, communication devices, patrol vehicles, and other transportation vehicles.
• Controls the entrance and exit of individuals by verifying identity, purpose of visit, and authorization.
• Escorts individuals as needed to ensure their safety.
• Responds to calls and takes appropriate action to assist in emergency situations.
• Searches for and apprehends missing or unauthorized individuals.
• Reports security concerns to supervisors.
• Communicates with law enforcement agencies to exchange information and request assistance.
• Prepares and maintains incident reports, vehicle citations, visitor logs, and personal property reports.

Requirements

• Education equivalent to graduation from a standard high school (qualifying full-time law enforcement, security, or related experience may substitute year-for-year).
• Valid driver’s license.
• Verbal communication and data entry skills.

Qualifications

• Current CPR certification preferred (certification can be provided if needed).

• Motor vehicles and golf carts.
• Security surveillance and monitoring equipment.
• Two-way radios and other communication devices.
• Restraint devices and other security equipment.
• Computers.

Schedule

10:00 PM to 6:30 AM, five days per week (including weekends).
