Responsibilities
- Service assigned routes with collection and hauling of waste or recycling materials.
- Lift, push, and pull trash receptacles weighing up to 75 pounds each from the ground approximately 300-500 times per day.
- Enter/exit the truck approximately 600-1000 times per day.
- Operate vehicle in accordance with LRS' safety and Life Critical Rules, OSHA, and DOT requirements.
- Document pre- and post-trip inspections using the standard DVIR (Driver Vehicle Inspection Report).
- Report all unsafe situations or service-related issues immediately to Route Manager or Dispatch.
- Attend and participate in all scheduled training programs, briefings, and meetings.
- Work closely with Route Manager to improve route efficiencies and identify best practices.
- Notify Route Manager of any incidents, accidents, injuries, or property damage.
- Notify Route Manager or Dispatch of service interruptions including blocked containers, closed lots, streets, alleyways, or potential safety hazards.
- Communicate customer requests to Dispatch or Route Manager.
- Identify and report all containers in need of repair or replacement.
- Ensure the number of containers on the route reconciles to the service level listed on the service list.
- Complete and submit customer tickets as required when excessive yardage must be removed.
- Position and return containers on the customer’s property in a manner that ensures lids are properly replaced, closure doors are closed and secured, and containers do not block driveway entrances or traffic.
- Perform all duties as scheduled by Route Manager or Dispatch and assist other drivers as directed to meet customer needs.
Requirements
- Legally eligible to work in the United States without requiring sponsorship.
- At least 18 years of age.
- A valid Class B CDL.
- A valid DOT medical card or obtain one prior to hire.
- No more than 3 DUI’s or OVI’s within the last 5 years or 2 in the last 10 years.
- No more than 3 license suspensions within the last 2 years.
- No more than 3 moving violations within the last 2 years.
- Successfully complete pre-employment screenings.
- Read and speak English well enough to communicate, understand, and respond to questions, directions, traffic signs, signals, and safety training.
Physical Demands / Environmental Factors
- Sit, use hands to finger, handle, or feel, reach with hands and arms, and talk or hear.
- Occasionally stand and walk.
- Frequently lift and/or move up to 10 pounds.
- Must be physically able to enter/climb and leave truck cab frequently.
- Manual dexterity required to operate controls on truck.
