UN_Mechanic 1 - (M-T-W : 7pm-7am)

About the Role

Responsible for equipment repairs, changeovers, preventive maintenance activities, and corrective troubleshooting on machinery. Assists with equipment inspection, installations, and system performance improvements. Performs all work in accordance with company policies, procedures, GMPs, safety standards, SOPs, and housekeeping standards.

Responsibilities

• Perform minor mechanical/electrical equipment repair and troubleshooting.
• Conduct process improvements and minor equipment changeovers.
• Fabricate machine parts on packaging machinery.
• Describe machine controls, safety devices, and emergency switches on all lines and equipment.
• Verify understanding and adherence to all safety procedures.
• Operate all equipment where trained, including start-up, operation, and shutdown procedures.
• Select proper tools for machine adjustments and demonstrate required reading comprehension.
• Prepare lines for daily production and verify components used.
• Operate and interface with on-line computers.
• Perform minor changeovers and preventive maintenance tasks where trained.
• Provide guidance and assistance to line personnel and demonstrate leadership.
• Maintain records, documentation, and a clean, safe work area.
• Exhibit flexibility to work at any position as needed in the facility or as a trainer.
• Perform and document all equipment challenges listed per MPI materials.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
• Entrance-level position, or at least 2 years of equivalent experience as a packaging maintenance mechanic, mechanical maintenance mechanic, or electrical maintenance mechanic.

Materials and Tools

• Materials: Machine parts and assemblies, pipe and fittings, lubricants, solutions, welding materials, electrical/electronic devices, changeover parts (as per training).
• Tools and Equipment: Various hand and power tools, machine shop equipment, welding equipment, electrical testing equipment (as per training).

Supervision

Works independently with minimal supervision or as part of a team. Directs other personnel as necessary in the course of duties.
