Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Provides health care for individuals in the primary care clinic commensurate with training and in accordance with the general policies and standards of practice, as established by the clinic.
- Delivers care appropriate for a primary care clinic with a multicultural patient population.
- Elicits detailed patient histories and conducts complete physician examinations.
- Reaches diagnosis and orders appropriate laboratory tests and referrals, etc., as well as counsels patient and family on health and disease.
- Provides clinical care in 6 clinical sessions per week.
- Supervises and directs the center’s other clinical staff (Medical Assistants, etc.).
- Collects biological specimens and processes them in the laboratory for testing.
- Maintains high standard of medical practice and participates in the training development of the medical team.
- Assists in medical education of both the patients and clinic staff.
- Facilitates the patient’s transition within and between health care settings; refer and transfer patients for follow-up and/or specialty care and discharge patients.
- Participates in the development of clinic protocols and formulary.
- Document each on site/in office procedure, prescription, consultation and patient contact in patient's chart and on the clinic’s encounter forms, within a 24-hour period.
- Counsels patient regarding medical and other problems which might affect patient's health and well-being.
- Performs such clinical procedures for patient's benefit which are within scope and skill of practitioner/specialist and which are economically feasible.
- Provides direction and leadership to the clinic's medical support staff, with regard to the administering of a patient's care.
- Performs other job related duties, as may be assigned, by the Chairman of Family Medicine.
Required Credentials
- Doctoral Degree (MD, DO),
- Florida Physician License required,
- Three years of experience in area of Family Medicine,
- Graduation from ACGME Family Medicine Residency Program,
- Board certification in Family Medicine,
- Current active state and federal DEA license,
- Current CPR Certification

Schedule
Part time, 60% clinical, with 6 clinic sessions per week. Distribution of effort may change in future years based on your interests and Departmental needs.
