About the role

UMass Memorial Health is seeking New Graduate Nurses for its New Graduate Nurse Residency Program. The program is designed for those who have recently completed their nursing education and have less than 9 months of work experience as an RN.

Responsibilities

• Participate in educational sessions to develop critical thinking and clinical judgment skills.
• Work under the supervision of preceptors to gain hands-on experience in various nursing specialties.
• Provide quality, evidence-based care to patients in an acute care setting.
• Adhere to the standards of nursing practice and nursing process.

Requirements

• A valid Massachusetts RN license.
• Graduated from an accredited BSN or ADN program within the last 9 months.
• No more than 9 months of work experience as an RN since graduation.
• Prior experience in specialty areas is preferred but not required.

Qualifications

• Graduated within the last 9 months.
• Completed BSN within 5 years of employment if starting with an ADN.
• Experience in the Emergency Department is considered favorably.

Skills

Strong communication skills, critical thinking abilities, and the ability to work independently are essential.
