About the role

Provides diagnostic patient care services using ultrasound to generate non-invasive images of the vascular system. Possesses knowledge of vascular anatomy and physiology. Evaluates images for diagnostic quality and makes necessary adjustments to capture the best possible images. Collaborates with radiologists and other healthcare professionals to provide accurate diagnostic information. Ensures patient safety and comfort during procedures by explaining the process, positioning patients correctly, and adjusting equipment as needed. Complies with vascular imaging protocols per accreditation guidelines.

Responsibilities

• Provide diagnostic patient care using ultrasound for vascular imaging
• Evaluate images for diagnostic quality and adjust as needed
• Collaborate with radiologists and healthcare professionals
• Ensure patient safety and comfort during procedures
• Comply with vascular imaging protocols per accreditation guidelines
• Maneuver equipment and improvise patient positions when necessary

Requirements

• 0-3 years of relevant experience
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association (AHA)
• Active status through one of the following certifications:
  • American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers (ARDMS): Registered Vascular Technologist - Vascular Technology, RVT (VT)
  • Cardiovascular Credentialing International (CCI): Registered Vascular Sonographer, RVS
  • American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT): Registered Technologist - Vascular Sonography RT(VS)
• May require Advanced Life Support (ALS) certification, if applicable
• May require experience in diagnostic ultrasound, if applicable
• May require registry/certification for another modality, if applicable
• May require license from Indiana State Department of Health (ISDH), if applicable
