Full-time position focused on performing diagnostic ultrasound procedures with a patient-centered approach and high medical ethics.
Responsibilities
- Perform quality work within deadlines with or without direct supervision.
- Interact professionally with other employees, customers, and suppliers.
- Work effectively as a team contributor and independently while coordinating work efforts.
- Perform clinical assessment and diagnostic sonography examinations, including venous reflux and arterial ultrasound examinations.
- Screen patients before exams for any precautions or contraindications.
- Review requisitions for examination details such as procedure requested, clinical history, patient condition, or special requirements.
- Use cognitive sonographic skills to identify, record, and adapt procedures based on anatomical, pathological, and diagnostic information.
- Use independent judgment to differentiate between normal and pathologic findings during exams.
- Initiate additional ultrasound imaging procedures to facilitate optimum diagnostic results.
- Analyze sonograms, synthesize sonographic information and medical history, and communicate findings to the appropriate physician.
- Provide interpreting physicians with an oral or written summary of technical findings.
- Maintain an orderly and clean work area to promote patient safety.
- Maintain ultrasound equipment and adequate supplies.
- Float between Towson, Ellicott City, and Pikesville locations as needed for coverage.
- Assist with imaging during venous procedures under provider direction.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Must be RVT or RVS certified.
- Strong organizational and multitasking abilities.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to sit for extended periods while working at a computer.
- Manual dexterity required for operating office equipment (e.g., computers, phones, fax machines).
- Ability to lift and carry up to 20 pounds occasionally.
- Visual acuity required for tasks involving computer screens and paper documents.
- Ability to move around the office to access files, office machinery, and other equipment.
