About the role
The Ultrasound Technologist performs diagnostic ultrasound exams according to physician orders. They are responsible for exceptional communication and patient care skills, working independently without direct supervision.
Responsibilities
- Aptitude toward the team philosophy
- Works independently without direct supervision
- Basic computer skills
- Serves as preceptor for imaging procedures
- Operates all imaging and Doppler/duplex equipment with proper technique
- Maintains all computer and documentation competencies
Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED
- Current ARDMS Certification in Ultrasound (required within 24 months of obtaining position)
Qualifications
- Exceptional communication and patient care skills
- Ability to work independently without direct supervision
- Basic computer skills
- Knowledge of sterile procedures
- Ability to provide correct patient identification, technique, education, instruction, and transportation
- Experience operating all imaging and Doppler/duplex equipment with proper technique
- Ability to meet all computer and documentation competencies
