Requirements

• Required Education: Associate's degree or equivalent from two-year college program or technical school or nursing diploma
• Required Work Experience: Direct - No Experience Required
• Required Certifications: 1 of the following license or registry is required - RDMS, PS - American Registry of Diagnostic Medial Sonography (ARDMS)

Qualifications

• Recommended Education: Bachelor's Degree
• Recommended Certifications: ARRT – R.T.(S) or R.T.(VS) - American Registry of Radiology Technologist (ARRT), RDMS, AB, OB/GYN, PS - RDCS, AE, RVT, VT - American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS)

• Develops knowledge to perform quality routine and specialized ultrasound procedures
• Recognizes patient conditions essential for successful completion of procedure
• Develops knowledge in how to troubleshoot and report malfunctioning equipment
• Develops the ability to explain procedures to patients and families in an effective manner
• Ensures that work area is properly maintained
